Eight good reasons to participate in an employer's VRSP

Is your client an employer which has recently put in place a voluntary retirement savings plan (VRSP)? As you know, your client must automatically register all targeted employees in the VRSP, and employees have 60 days to opt out of the plan.

How can you convince these employees about the importance of thinking about their financial future and participating in their employer's VRSP?

Your experience has no doubt shown you that it is not always easy to convince people to think about retirement. Some think they may be too young to start thinking about retirement and prefer to live in the now, while others are burdened by other financial obligations.

We have therefore designed a document, which, we hope, will convince these individuals to think about the importance of planning for their financial future. This document, entitled Your Employer's VRSP: Eight Good Reasons to Participate discusses the benefits of saving for retirement as well as the benefits of the VRSP (low fees, simplicity, tax savings, etc.).

There are two versions of the document, depending on whether or not the employer contributes to the VRSP. Both versions are in the VRSP toolbox.
