In a few days, on July 1, the law on the voluntary retirement savings plan (VRSP) will be going into effect in Quebec.
It’s not yet possible for you to offer the VRSP to your clients1, but you can start preparing your approach. In this regard, you will most probably find the site iapension.com very helpful.

VRSP update
Even though the VRSP Act was passed in December 2013, the final version of the regulations is still pending. VRSP draft regulations were tabled in March by the Régie des rentes du Québec (RRQ), but it has not yet published the final version. That is why Industrial Alliance is still not able to put the finishing touches on our VRSP solution.
Nevertheless, we continue to prepare ourselves for the VRSP effective date. We have already submitted our application to the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) for authorization to act as a VRSP administrator. And we will have our plan registered with the RRQ and the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as soon as it is possible to do so.
